1944 世田谷生まれ。12歳で女子美術大学付属中学入学し在籍53年｡洋画科３年次に柳宗理に師事、精神とコンセプトの影響を受ける。安宅賞受賞。共通絵画研究室助手として残り、教授を定年退職するまで制作発表活動をつづける｡
1972「青・玄」で青のあいだの完成をみる
1976 ガラスオブジェ2人展(西武アトリエヌーボー)。
1977 初個展「青のあいだ」(ミキモトホール)。論文「青の精神」無から有 発表。『芸術新潮』「新人」。脇田和が「油彩の境を脱し」、永井一正が「象徴的な抽象」と評した。
1994-2007 世田谷美術展招待出品。
1999 『SASAKI HIROKO』作品集出版(美術出版社)。
2000 基本設計アトリエ＋屋上菜園 『美術手帖』「創造の現場から」。
2002 個展「青のあいだ1967-2002」(国際芸術センター青森)。『美術手帖』佐々木宏子×関根伸夫対談。
2003-07 基本と精神を重視した先端的美術教育の現代造形専修を、脇田愛二郎 戸村浩 吉江麗子 宮島達男らと女子美術大学に立ち上げ実践。
2005 ルツェルン音楽祭に招待され現代音楽の巨匠ピエール・ブーレーズとミーティング、「意志と偶然」と「青のあいだ-Unconscious Nature and Conscious Object」が同じ構造であることを確認。
2007 SASAKI HIROKO 青のあいだ-Unconscious Nature and Conscious Object-DVD刊行青森テレビ
2010 巡回個展「佐々木宏子 青のあいだ-Unconscious Nature and Conscious Object」(兵庫県立美術館ギャラリー、青森県立コミュニティギャラリー、世田谷美術館区民ギャラリーB)。 他個展多数。

1944 Born in Tokyo’s Setagaya Ward. At the age of twelve she entered the middle school affiliated with Joshibi University of Art and Design. At the third grade of the university, she studied under Sori Yanagi and learned the importance of the spirit and conception as an artist. Received the Ataka Prize. After graduation, she remained as an assistant of oil painting course and had been a member of Joshibi University for fifty-three years till she retired as a professor, while kept creating her own works.
1972 “Unconscious Nature and Conscious Object” was completed by Blue･Gen.
1976 Glass Objects by Two exhibition at Seibu Atelier Nouveau.
1977 Her first solo exhibition Ao no Aida in Mikimoto Hall. She published a short thesis The Spirit of Blue-Yu from Mu. Kazu Wakita stated that she has “gone beyond the boundaries of oil painting,” and Kazumasa Nagai called her works “symbolic abstract.” “New Faces ” column in Geijutu Shincho.
1994-2007 Invited to the Setagaya Museum Exhibition every year. Bijutsu Shuppan published a book of her oil tableaus SASAKI HIROKO. “From the Scene” column in Bijutu Techo.
2000 Designed her studio with a rooftop vegetable garden.
2002 Solo exhibition Ao no Aida 1967－2002 at the Aomori Contemporary Art Centre. The talk with Nobuo Sekine “Internal Color, Internal Shape” appeared in Bijutu Techo.
2003－2007 Aiming at the high education of art armed with spirit and the fundamentals, she established and carried out the Contemporary Art and Design Course at Joshibi University of Art and Design together with Aijiro Wakita, Hiroshi Tomura, Reiko Yoshie and Tatsuo Miyajima,.
2005 Invited to the Luzern Music Festival, Sasaki had a meeting with Pierre Boulez, a great master of contemporary music, and they confirmed that her “Ao no Aida (Unconscious Nature and Conscious Object)” and his “Par volonte et par hazard (consciousness and contingency)” have the same structure.
2007 A DVD SASAKI HIROKO＜青のあいだ＞UNCONCIOUS NATURE AND CONSCIOUS OBJECT was published （Aomori Television Broadcasting Co., Ltd.）
2010 Solo exhibitions Unconscious Nature and Conscious Object at Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art, Aomori Museum of Art and Setagaya Art Museum.
